Our story

A father and a son, building in Orange County.

View Nu Construction is a family business. We have never been anything other than that, and we never intend to be.

How it started

What the work
taught him

Doug has worked in construction his entire life. He learned the trade the way most people learn anything that lasts — badly at first, then every day after that, until it stopped being work and started being instinct.

He went out on his own with a used pickup, a set of tools, and a rule he has never broken: show up when you say you will, and do what you said you would do. That rule is the entire business model.

His son grew up watching all of it — sanding, sweeping, holding the flashlight, eventually cutting trim — and learned it the same way, on the same job sites, holding the same tools. That is how a family trade gets handed down, and it is the only reason this is a second-generation business instead of a one-man shop.

Two people, one crew, and a lifetime of sawdust in their hair. That is the whole company. We think that is a good thing.

What matters to us

Five things we don’t
negotiate on

Say what it costs

A homeowner who feels ambushed at the end of a project never hires us again — and rightly so. We price the whole job, not the part that is easy to price.

Respect the household

Most of our clients still live in the house while we work. Dust walls, floor protection, clean bathrooms and a real end-of-day cleanup are not extras.

Measure twice, cut once

Not a slogan, a habit. Rework eats your schedule and your budget, so we would rather tape a line three times.

Build it like it is ours

Every detail gets the same standard of care, whether it is a $4,000 bathroom or a $400,000 addition.

Finish the small things

The caulk line, the outlet cover, the screw in the wrong spot. That is what people actually remember.

Respect your calendar

We plan the job around your life — school drop-offs, work schedules, the dog’s naptime.

Our promise to you, in one line

“We will treat your home the way we would want Doug to treat ours — and we will tell you the truth, even when it costs us the job.”
